SPACE invite applications for two rounds of Permacultures residencies based in the dedicated residency studio at the White Building, Hackney Wick.

WE ARE HERE will consist of 6 x one-month residencies for UK artists and 1 three-month residency for an international residency artist.

This is an open call for proposals from artists whose work sits at the intersection of issues of technology and ecology.

Call for Guest Curator Proposals

Deadline for preliminary proposal: Thursday 28 February 2013

Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal is seeking the guest curator and theme for the 14th edition of its international biennale of contemporary photography that will take place in September 2015. The organization is soliciting brief, preliminary proposals (one page) from which a short list of candidates will be asked to submit more detailed dossiers.

Call for Curatorial Residents 2013–2014
at 221A, Vanvouver

Application deadline: 24 February 2013

221A is an artist-run centre located in Vancouver, Canada with a mandate to support the advancement of contemporary art that explores design as a subject. Projects presented at 221A address design in its widest sense, which may encompass graphics, products, architecture, or, more broadly, social codes and conventions.

221A is seeking proposals from curators for projects to commence in 2014. Implemented in 2010 the Curatorial Residencies program encourages a diversity of curatorial approaches to the organization’s mandate. Emerging and professional curators, curatorial collectives, which may include recent graduates and practicing artists, designers and architects, are encouraged to submit proposals to be developed over the course of one year. Projects may include exhibitions, performances, publications, talks or workshops. Proposals should discuss a viewpoint, theory or approach that the project hopes to foster in relation to the organization’s mandate.

Painting is enjoying a remarkable creative renaissance in the 21st century, with many of the world’s leading artists now working in this most enduring and seductive of media. 100 Painters of Tomorrow is an ambitious new project, initiated by editor-curator Kurt Beers and the publishers Thames & Hudson, to find the 100 most exciting painters at work today. Culminating in a major publication that will introduce and present each artist and their work, creating a snapshot of the best new talent in painting from across the globe, submissions are invited from artists via this website from 15 January – 15 March 2013.

Opportunities: Artist-in-Residence at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, Omaha

The Residency Program at the Bemis Center was started by artists for artists and is a program that truly trusts artists and seeks to support the creative process. The Residency Program provides support in the form of time, space and monthly stipends to 36 artists per year. Three month residencies allow artists time to reflect, research and take risks. Center’s famously large live/work studios and installation spaces allow artists to do the work they cannot do elsewhere. Access to on-site facilities and a monthly stipend allow each artist to concentrate fully on their creative process.
