Tokyo Wonder Site Residency program is the platform of creation and research for international creators in diverse fields of creation. Young emerging, middle standing, international leading
creators gather and explore their ideas in the heart of Tokyo, where global creative city with multi-layers of creativity from traditional culture to cutting edge technology. Tokyo Wonder Site Residency program has been organized by the partnership and collaboration with art centers and cultural institutions around the world since its establishment in 2006.

We intend to strengthen the network of creators from Asia. This open call program ‘International Creator Residency Program’ is for established and productive international creators in the field of Visual Art. We provide financial support to allow participants approximately three month work in residency culminating in a presentation and participating TWS art programs. Through this program, creators will expand their activities in Japan, and gain a jumping board to the international art scene. We are now calling for creators who can perform new creative activities during their programs at TWS Residency for three months.

The HIAP Residency Programme is offered to arts professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including, but not limited to, Visual and Media Arts, Dance, Theatre and Literature. A residency includes accommodation and studio space at HIAP Studios free of charge for the duration of 1–3 months. The studios, which combine living and working space, are located in Cable Factory and on the island of Suomenlinna, both in Helsinki, Finland.

On the theme “FANTASTIC, MAGIC, WONDERFUL BEPPU!”, Beppu Project is inviting artists to create large-scale outdoor artworks on the walls of Beppu. Beppu, located on Kyushu Island in Japan, is a curious city and possesses many facets. Beppu is the second largest thermal city in the world. The city once knew a glamorous time and knew great fame with crowed shopping streets, animated life in bars, restaurants, hundreds of movie theaters, and a large flux of visitors disembarking from the ferry. Nowadays, the city has changed but still offers vibrant memories. Coming to Beppu is like taking part to a treasure hunt to find hidden gems and encounter numerous mysteries. So, following this invocation-like theme: “FANTASTIC, MAGIC, WONDERFUL BEPPU!”, artists will lift the veil on new artworks created in this unique place and enriching Beppu’s majestic treasures. Artists’ residence Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral in Bad Ems was founded in 1995 and is a place of reflection, artistic production, discussion and meeting. It supports visual artists from all over the world by awarding artists-in-residence fellowships.

The Künstlerhaus is publicly presented through lectures, concerts and exhibitions. Works by the fellows are regularly shown in ‘Made in Balmoral’, the Künstlerhaus’ exhibition space in the Bad Ems city centre. Schloss Balmoral sees itself as an interface between artistic work and theoretical reflection and as a point of contact between former and present fellows. Balmoral intends to build a bridge between the artists’ present and their future.

The theme for the residential fellowships for 2015 is Dada. Since 2013, fellowships are offered in one artistic genre or one theme each year. This offering, which is unique in Germany, is intended to enable deeper mutual creative cross-fertilisation among the resident artists. It will also lead to a more intensive specialist exchange of ideas with external artists, speakers, teachers, curators, etc. For 2015, the Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral is awarding two 3-month residential fellowships and four 9-month residential fellowships. About HMK
Hotel Maria Kapel is an artist-run residency and project space located in a 15th century chapel in Hoorn, the Netherlands; a small historic town 40 kilometres north of Amsterdam. Hoorn was founded in 716, and rapidly grew to become a major harbour town. During Holland’s ‘Golden Age’, Hoorn was an important home base for the Dutch East India Company (VOC) and a very prosperous centre of trade. Hoorn is currently a city with a small touristic centre and larger sub-urban area and has a high number of commuters to Amsterdam for work and studies. HMK offers artists a stay in a concentrated work space, where dialogue and collaboration inform experimental, context based exhibitions and projects. The programme invites artists and curators working in a wide range of media, but mainly focusing on installation and context based work and video.

Elsewhere is now accepting 2014 residency applications. Artists, musicians, curators, scholars, writers, gardeners, urban agriculturalists, homesteaders, installation, sculpture, textile, sound, video, kitchen and performance artists, system-thinkers, game-makers, and other creative individuals/groups across medias are encouraged to apply. Residents use the museum’s immense 58-year collection of cultural and material surplus for site-specific projects that interpret and contribute to Elsewhere’s concepts, collections , and communities.

Makers and thinkers with an interest in the intersections of participation and play, situation and process, repair and reuse, public practice, and critical institutions are an excellent fit for this program. Residents evolve their projects from the enormous collections of textiles and toys, books, consumer technologies, thrift store shrift, and rooms full of vintage clothes. They respond to the spaces and the social ecologies of the museum. Residencies include access to a wood shop, screen printing facility, fabric workshop, library, storefront theater, vintage wardrobe, communal kitchen, as well as connections with Greensboro neighbors and Elsewhere’s national artist network. All projects are supported by a team of curators who provide critical feedback, documentation, community connections, and event support.

Elsewhere offers an exceptional place for rethinking the people, places, and things of everyday and extraordinary life. Individuals and collaborative teams are encouraged to apply. Residencies range from 2-6 weeks. 4 weeks is the ideal residency time-frame. Creative retreats and internships are also available.

Dar Al-Ma’mûn is an artists residency founded by the Ithaque guest house complex located in the Ourika green valley near Marrakesh. Dar Al-Ma’mûn brings a wealth of cultural activities (an exhibition space, a library of over 10,000 books in Arabic and French, a literary translation research centre, cultural and educational activities for children and adults). Dar Al-Ma’mûn is a creating a platform whose purpose is to develop intercultural exchanges and strengthen the contribution of Ithaque’s economic and local social development. Dar Al-Ma’mûn is open to artists of all practices: drawing, painting, sculpture, video, photography, performance.
